SystemPulse is a native macOS application. The short version: we don't run analytics, we don't have user accounts, and we don't collect or transmit information about your processes, caches, or activity. Everything stays on your Mac.
What runs on your device
SystemPulse samples CPU / RAM / disk / thermal counters via macOS system APIs (host_statistics64, libproc, sysctl) every two seconds. Process and cache metadata stays in-memory and is never written to disk, network, or any third party.
What leaves your device
Two outbound network calls, neither of which carries personally identifiable information:
- A GET to
systempulse.711web.com/api/messages.jsonon launch and every 12 hours. The request contains the standardUser-Agentheader — no app-specific identifier, no process names, no usage data. We see only that some SystemPulse install fetched a public file. - Pro only: a single license-check request to our server on launch (once per day) when license validation lands. Until that feature ships, Pro is currently in an open trial — no network calls beyond the message feed.
No telemetry. No crash reports. No process names, file paths, or environment data ever leave your Mac.
Local storage
SystemPulse writes to two locations on your disk:
~/Library/Logs/SystemPulse/actions.log— every cleanup/kill action you take, with timestamp + result. Visible to you. Never uploaded.~/Library/Preferences/com.rizwan.systempulse.plist— your settings (poll interval, thresholds, dismissed in-app messages). Standard macOS preferences storage.
Permissions we ask for
- Process information: implicit, no prompt. We only read other-process metadata that any unprivileged user can see.
- Desktop / Downloads folder access: only in Pro, only when you scan caches that include those paths. macOS asks you on first scan. Decline if you don't want the scan.
- Admin password: only for the "deep purge" feature, which calls
sudo purge. macOS shows the standard authentication dialog — SystemPulse never sees the password itself.
